This group begins with a beautiful wicker chair that I loved when visiting Monet's painting studio in Giverny. It was charming and seemed such a distinctive style that I couldn't forget. I was taken with the arch of the back of the chair; the stylized, open breaks in the wicker that create a row of windows at the base and along the back of the curved frame. I took these important details and used them to dream up a series of special wicker pieces. They have the elegance to live indoors as much as outdoors, but they all carry the wonderful artistic life of the garden.

I love the ever-recurring aesthetic of wrapped and cane-topped furniture, imagined here with ideas from the 1960s and the 1980's. This technique is applied with quintessential beach house style to a chest of drawers and paneled side table, both fully clad in cane. Easy to mix in the bedroom, children's room, screen porch, or den. With special brass hardware and a mahogany top.

When possible, I always like to have a big, bold, chunky coffee table as the heart of a room, for both casual and more refined spaces. The idea of this silhouette was to create a substantial but low-sung profile with large square block feet, that would have a classic lndo-Chinese and island sensibility. Every surface is covered in bamboo, while the top is framed in a softly elegant profile and beautifully surfaced in pressed bamboo. A large-scale framed mirror uses the same profiles and mix with paneled bamboo. I envisioned this group in our Khaviar finish for the city, quite dark and luxurious.

"This favorite desk is adapted from an antique modern dining table. I often like to do tooled leather coverings on tables, and here we were able to roll the edge of the leather over the apron to form a set of drawers that make more of a desk. The piece is named for a much-loved, longstanding store manager from the early days of Aero, who always worked from the gallery floor at a beautiful vintage desk." -Thomas O'Brien

Airy wrought iron and woven cane create the mixed materials for a set of side and nesting tables, an etagere, and a console. The form is based on a longtime favorite set of small stacking iron tables with classic cane weaving that I've had for many years. Both the etagere and console have added rails so that they can be used easily as a bar table or shelf.
